I have a 03 Vinson that I dont drive much it only has 200 miles on it. I started it up the other day and it wouldn't stay running unless I left it choked. It also backfires when I rev the engine. I let it run for 20 mins the other day and it got so hot it melted the plastic on the fender well. If anyone has a clue to what this problem is please let me know. Thanks -Wade

 

Well since no one is commenting I guess I will the fender is rubbing against your exhaust so you should get the special exhuast tape that will keep your plastics from melting and you sound like you have a carb prob...take your carb apart and since you said it just sits there are deposits built up in the jets of the carb and the bowl so get some carb cleaner and clean it well and then it shall work fine and I would put some new gas in there and try it on pri for starting it may help it a little.
