Need some advise for anyone out there that owns or has owned a quadracer. I just picked up 2 of them that's need of repair. I'm about 80% complete but one thing I'm concerned with is a weap hole under the water pump that leaks a little. I've replaced the water/oil seal on the impeler, this has helped the flow but still is leaking. Both units are doing this, the one has had caulk put in the hole buy a shadetree repair dude. Has anyone had this happen to them. Front brakes are an issue too, both need the masters rebuilt or replaced. That's for any ideas you might have. Doug

That hole is the weep hole for the waterpumps. If there leaking there, that means something in the waterpump is still not right. Theres specail washers with rubber in the center and all kinds of cool stuff that has to be just right.

Tore off the cover again and pushed out the seal. Got another oem from a local dealer. Polished up the shaft and the seal seat. Installed and checked the fit, everything looks good. Added water and what? It still drips! Not fast, just a drip every few seconds. I think it's time for some BarsLeak. I don't know what else to try.

Coolant leaking from the weep hole under the water pump cover:

This is an easy fix, the water pump has a spring loaded mechanical seal behind the impeller that is prone to failure. Simply remove the pump cover, remove the impeller, (The bolt that retains the impeller has left hand
threads, DO NOT screw this up, this bolt is extremely soft metal will break off in the water pump shaft if over tightened, you will never get it out and have to replace the shaft/bearing assembly which costs about $60, not counting the shaft seal and the possibility of replacing you clutch side cover gasket!) using a small screwdriver and hammer pry up the lip of the mechanical seal part of the way around until you can can get a good bite on it, give it a good whack so the soft metal bucket distorts enough in it's bore that you can grab it with needle nose pliers or vise-grips. Replace the seal (part # 1740-46A00) with a new one, lightly coating the bucket with hi temp silicone and tap it in using an appropriate sized socket as a driver. Replace the rubber seal and ceramic bushing on the back side of the impeller with the new parts provide in the kit and re-install the impeller. It's a good idea to also replace the rubberized steel washer at this time, it's a cheap part. Remember do not over tighten the impeller bolt and do not use Loc-Tite on this fastener. This problem is so common I carry a spare kit in my goodie box.
I found this at http://www.mrdune.com/suzukitech/tips.html it is a very good site

Thanks for the info, one thing we didn't do was to put goop on the seal before installing it. Thanks, again. I'll redo this in the morning and try it and report back.
