it depends on which on you get. some just increase the upper limit of the rpm's others change the timing curve and increase the upper limit of the rpm's.
i have an Arctic cat 650 with a dynatek cdi wow did it ever wake it up . you dont get much more hp on the top but you do on the bottom.
on my z 400 i have a procom ,which just gives me more rpm's. its good because i can hold on to the throttle a little longer before the shift. tho i am looking to replace it with a dynatek in the very near future.

I have a procom rightnow, so let me know if the dyna is better...I was thinking about switching. Also, if you are planning on a 12to1 piston, save yourself some money and buy a drz400 cylinder base gasket. it will up your compression over 12 to 1 for about 10 bucks. If you buy a piston, just go ahead and do the 440 big bore for a few more dollars,
