i would suggest getting the 450r. really you can pick up an 05 for really reasonable. If you tooth it down 1 in the front sprocket, it does the tight trails really well, and barley looses any top end speed. Plus when you do get a open straght away, the 450 screams.

The Pred is a rubbish bike. They do break down often and are so heavy they cant compete with the other 450's out there. The reason they still have a bussiness is not from selling quads.

Ya thanks for all of the replies ! I just wanted to throw the predator in and ill probly test drive all before i buy. I will probably buy new just so i dont have to worry about any problems and getting other ppls junk. lol. I wasnt sure tho if it would be too much to handle for me being over 400 pounds. I weigh 140. But the YFZ is just so sweet lol

The YFZ is a sweet machine, but personally I would pick it for the track, play riding, or freestyle jumping. I don't think I would want to do an all day cross country ride on one though.

lol Like recon said the Z and EX are basically the same machine. I have a 99 ex and my brother has a 06 Z. They both have about the same amount of power as well. A drag race will pretty much be neck and neck. They do have totally different ways in which the power comes on though. The EX is like a tractor down low and the Z is better when it starts to rev. One thing I like about Suzuki though is that they give props to Gust in their commercials. I havent seen a Honda or Yamaha comercial even mention atv's much less their riders.

400 ex is all around better . In 300ft dirt drags the z400 is a little bit quicker but not worth all the extra parts and weight .

liquid cooled does not mean better nor does newer. Just more bulky crap my air cooled ATC 250R has an unbelievable power to weight ratio and I have no problem beating z400's 400ex's and liquid cooled 250r's at
the drag's...

^-- your comparing two to four strokes... stop right there
they are in different legues

anyways i was deabting on this topic too a while back and decided on the z400.
back when i bought the atv, the 400ex didnt have reverse so that was a negative, in addition, i thought liquid cooling would just be an added benefit in the very hot humid days
