its an awesome quad. the coolest looking 250 of all time too in my opinion. really fast great for trails and my favorite quad to jump. my friend has a 400EX and i'd ratjer be jumpin mine anyday instead of his. i hear that quadracers have kinda weak frames or somethin and i believe it cuz i broke mine in 2 places. got it welded really cheap though and its held up fine since. i recomend u get it!

Its been awhile since I lasted posted because work has been very hectic. Anyways. Jugg, I always thought you had an 86 LT250R?!?!? I noticed because mines an 86 and I look to see what others have, that might may mine just that much better. =)

Anyways, no matter which year you have, they are very quick quads. I hesitate to say fast becuase mine was clocked at 48 mph WITH an FMF pipe and silencer. Needless to say, theres nothing better for tight wooded trails. Its hard to find people to go riding with because they can't keep up, and I refuse to slow myself down to their riding capabilities. LOL. (Thats how I look at it anyways.)
My frame has cracked also, which is 1 reason I'm currently not riding. A local weld shop will be doing it very quickly for me. If it wasn't cracked at such a bad place, I probably would chance it. Its on the left side down tube that welds right by the footpeg. its broke all the way through. No biggie.

well i thought i had an 86 but it turns out it was an 85 lol! i wasn't sure about either year so i put 86. i found the sticker that says when it was manufactured and it said december 1984. so that makes it an 85 i guess. its still pretty good. also i found out my swing arm (or at least something on it) is james lucky when i was cleaning the grease off of it. what a pleasant surprise! my frame broke on both sides of the front left shock. theres that little bar that extends across and it goes by the shock u know. well it broke on both sides there all the way through and cracked my hood and plastics quite a bit. also the frame was cracked on the other side. got it all fixed up in 2 days. my dads friend makes hot rods and he welded it all up for us. cool huh?

wow, that just gave me the inspiration to double check every little joint on my frame, now that I'm still waiting on the new plastics to show up. lol. I heard about the front shock mounts before being extremely weak. I never would have thought of the down tube on mine though. Its basically a messed up T-Joint weld, so you'd almost think that would be one of the stronger portions of the frame. I guess not.

Since we're getting all the winter storm effects from the west, in a liquid form, that should give me a week or 2 to have it welded up. Possibly a gusset put in too if they can.

BTW, glad you found that sticker on your down tube, it helped enormously for me.

My girlfriend has an LT250R and she loves it!!!
That machine has the power and handling to take you through tight trails with ease.
No need to fill coolant only change it every two years.
GOOD LUCK ON BUYING ONE.
