Your wasting your time. You can do every mod to a z250 and a stock z400 will still murder it. I have been there. it also handles like junk compared to a 400. Just ride it, and trade up when you can. There is no "race" in the lil 250. Also, there is NO pipe that would ever increase the horsepower by 10. its not possible. Maybe 10%, but not 10 hp. Your lucky to get 2-3hp. If that were true, it would be as fast as a z400 with just a pipe. Not gonna happen. I raced my 250 against my 400 when the 00 was stock and the 250 had cam, ported head, header, wiseco piston, bigger carb, yoshi pipe, open air box and the 400 smoked it. Morale of the story, either: trade up or be happy.

 

hey how r u my name iz sheldon wright and I have an LTZ250 2005 and I am lookin for the same thing u r lookin for have you ever tookin the silencer out of the stock exaust.It makes a great sound but only gains like 2hp.But I am still looking for an exaust and I might just get that ac racing exaust that gets 10hp+. But that iz true no pipe can do that I may go to two brothers I heard they are a good exaust pipe but I want myne to be loud too.

 

Taking the spark arrester out will not give you 2hp. Changing the complete exhaust will give you about 1-2 hp.

 

Dont get the AC, no 10+ HP. Loud is bad.

 

the two bros is a good pipe i got it on my 400 and it is awesome as for what ltz guy saying that a 400 will win is bc it will but not just because of horsepower its how its geared horsepower doesnt win races alone or trucks would be racers not cars

 

Nope, in this case it is just power. The 400 just has too much power for the 250. Racing is cars because they are lighter and lower to the ground and they can get just as much HP from the cars as the trucks.

 

Well my 250 sure does ride like it.But do u have a manual cluth on ur 250.

 

What do you mean it rides like it? I dont have a 250, I have a 450.

 

i know the 400 has more power and thats y it wins but i was just stating a fact that horsepower doesnt always win the race, didnt mean to offend or go against what any one said

 

umm..listen..the ltz250 is a trail sport quad not a "race quad" thats why they made 450's..ur not comparing apples to apples..basically the 250 engine was designed 20 years as a utility motor..but has just been refreshed for the ltz..so dont go out and compare it to a 400..its a 250..and its was one of the best in its CLASS..
