Leeking from weep hole, LT500
#1
Like the title says, I have having trouble with radiator fluid leaking from the weep hole on the water pump. I had already once replaced all the bearings and seals for this problem and it didn't seem to help. I then tried it again and it seemed to have fixed the problem. Today after about 2 hours of riding, I noticed that when I ran my finger across the pump's weep hole, I felt a small amount of liquid. So I then wiped it clean and let it set for about 30 minutes. I then put my finger on the hole and noticed a very small amount of fluid on the fingertip. It's not dripping onto the ground or running out but I am going nuts. This will be the third time I will have to try to fix this and each time I follow the instructions in the service manual to the letter. I didn't notice any kind of tear of the seals the second time I rebuilt the water pump, so I have to think that they should be fine still. Is there anything else I should be looking for while trying to fix this problem? Just to add to the information, I did add bars leak into the fluid when I re-filled the second time. It didn't leak at all until after riding today.

Well, theres not too many things there that can cause leaking from the weep hole.
Things to check or replace.
1) Seals are bad, replace both.
2) Bearing are bad in pump causing seals to wear prematurely.
3) The water pump shaft is worn which is causing the seals to wear prematurely or is worn so bad it just wont seal anymore.
If its original, Id bet its the pump shaft. JMO
