Default piped z250 versus a stock 300ex

wow, a real challenge. umm, i would go with the 300ex. all of the 300ex's ive seen were not all that empressive, but they were all pretty much stock. but ive seen a piped Z run and it wasnt bad, but i would still have to say a 300ex. heres a chart i found on the net, it might give yall an idea about these atvs. the z250 and the 250ex are pretty much the same so i would use the 250ex in its place.

i would say a z250 in the woods definitely, and if you modded a z250 you might beat a 300 mx and drag. i have a z250 and my friend has a 300exand i beat him in the woods by a long shot.

Are you serious? The 300ex would easily win in all areas. The 300 has a manual clutch, more power, is wider, better suspension, and chain driven. Thats a no brainer. They guy on the 300ex that can't keep up with a z250 just can't ride. Its that simple. We should start a thread something like: piped ozark 250 vs. grizzley 660? or piped mongoose 250 vs. z400......

ya know what, change of hart....bradr is right, ive seen z250's run, and i accually think with the right pipe you could stomp a 300ex, but the 300ex is better stock. but again i say ( with the right pipe ). and ive rode a 300ex, when it comes to speed the 300ex is faster, but when it comes to everything else the Z would easily beat it, nevermind the manual clutch, that is a advantage. but with the right rider that wouldnt matter. oh yeah, ltzguy, how could you say a z250 would be beat all around, the z250 isnt all that fast, but a 300ex isnt THAT empressive. as a matter of fact, i think they need alot of aftermarket parts before they could even be concidered a racer. the 300ex is made for intermediate riders, and the Z is made for newbies, so duhhhhhhhhhhh, its gonna be faster... no reason to diss a Z that bad...

The 300 would win easy in a drag race.I had a 250x that had a high compression piston, cobra pipe.uni airfilter and rejetted and I couldnt touch a 300ex.And the 250x will run with or outrun the z250. Frantic I'm not saying that the z250 isnt a good machine but the 300 has more power. And with the right rider the 250 probably could beat the 300 in the woods. Please dont get me wrong the z250 is a good bike.

when i raced my friend in the woods, he was all over the place. he couldn't even stay on the trail. i beat him down the trail 5 minutes faster. so i said why dont i race your bike and you race mine. so i took his bike and i raced him down the trail. the 300ex was the worst handeling bike i have ever been on. i couldn't go out of 3rd gear cause the front end couldn't take the turns. every time i went over a rock it felt like i had no shocks. its not worth having all that power, manual clutch, wider, and chain driven if it cant go over a rock. but it would win for a fact in a drag race.

i can say that because i have a z250. How old is the 300ex? It could be wore out. ever thought about that?

if the 300ex is descent, and the z250 is piped then it would be a close race. not at drag, because the ex should have the edge. but in woods the z250 should be easier to handle. then again like i said before, the Z is a beginner quad, and the ex is a intermediate quad, for the Z to keep up at all makes it a strong quad, but to finnaly anwser the question, the 300ex is faster on a strip, but handling wise, the Z is a more stable choice. but with the right mods, a 300ex would desimate all...... well atleast the 300 class.

LTZGUY- nice work on your z250, all them mods should make it easily pull away from a 300ex.
