Default Vinson going away?

The info the dealer gave you was correct. The Vinson is going away, well, sort of (the Eiger and Ozark too). Suzuki is expanding their King Quad lineup. Like what Yamaha did with all their utilities becoming Grizzlys and all of their sports becoming Raptors. For the guys that like the Vinson and it's solid rear axle, the only major change should be the name and most likely the plastic styling. But you'll have to wait until June of 2007 to see what the final product looks like and if they incorporate any new features. So I would not run out and buy one right away because of the worry that they are being discontinued. About the time you do, the new model will come out with a locker or other new feature that you wish you would of waited for.

From the 450 King Quad unveiling:

Suzuki representatives hinted to the fact that several other exciting new models will be announced in June of 2007, and one of the goals over the next 18 months to update every utility ATV and become apart of the King Quad brand, which includes the current Vinson, Eigers, and Ozark models.
The 18 months timeframe was from last fall so I would look for all of the model updates to take place by the 2009 lineup unveiling in June of 2008. But the Vinson name is supposed to be the first to go.
