I was wondering if anyone could tell me the procedure for adusting the vavles on the LTZ400?

 

its not that easy to do if you have never done it before. its best to buy the service manual so you have the valve specs and info on them, you have to put the motor on TDC and then measure the clearance on the valves, find the specs and figure out what shims you have to put in to get the right clearance, then you have to remove the cams and reshim and then reinstall the cams and retime the timing chain and then you measure again, if its not in spec then you have to start over until you get all 4 valves within specs, if you have never done it and have the time and want to learn how to do it then get the manual and study it, if not take it to somebody thet has done them before

 

Thanks. I did get the service manual yesterday and we have it apart. I found out what shims I need but the shop was closed so I didn't get to finish it. I didn't realize that it would be such a big job!
