"Park" on my 2002 auto vinson doesn't work... it is just the same as having it in neutral. I don't think the shifter is the problem since it still goes through everything smoothly. Any ideas?

The park is part of the rear diff. It has an adjustment there. Move your shifter and watch the diff, you'll see the cable move and where to adjust it. Take the cable off of the diff. and move the shaft it hooked on with some pliers and see if park works.

 

No luck by manually adjusting rear diff. However, I do believe this is how the problem originated (We drove the vinson while the diff was stuck in park a few months back)
