did you rejet the carb when changed the filter?pull the spark plug out and see what color the tip of it is.if it is a white chalky color then you need to put a bigger main jet in the carb and you might want to change the plug again after you do this.

I'd start with a carb cleaning. I think youl find that's the problem.
FYI: the LT80's are jetted way fat. Adding a K&N will not require a jet change.
You should run a outerwear with any K&N style filter.

It's a fine mesh thing that pre-filters the air.
Anyplace that sells a filter can get you a outerwear.

Hi,

When it ticks over difficult, have you been thinking on checking your reed valves?
Mine where cracked! --> hard cranking, bad running.

Just a thought

I have a 94 Lt 80 the engine runs great but the transmission is not letting it run but about 10MPH while the engine runs wide open. The Machine will pull great go up almost any hill you can aim it at it just wont run very fast have you ever seen this before. Thanks for any info you can provide

I had the same thing on my oldest LT, change the belt and the rollers in the hub on the crankshaft, that should give it the power it had before.
