Default Anyone gone from Rincon to a KQ7xx?

I have a 06 EFI 680 Honda Rincon. I am thinking about trading to a 08 KQ 750. I ride the Colorado mtns a lot and need a lower gear, more power and better engine braking. I rode a buddies 450 today and it was pretty weak. I pinned it in a bar ditch and it just drove up and out slowly where my Rinny would pull the wheels hard. Is the 700 a LOT more powerful than the 450? Has anyone here compared the 700 to a Rincon680? This would be the first time I left Honda in 23 years. Thanks for the help guys.

I just recently bought a new 08 KingQuad 450 and I think it will almost out preform my dad's 07 Rincon 680. I driven both hard and they seem to perform about the same. Both are great machines. But the KingQuad does defenitly have better engine braking then the Honda. But Honda has better stopping power in the brakes. I'm quite happy about the performace of my 450 so I would think the new 750 is just that much better. But I never driven the 700 or new 750 so I wouldn't know for how much better they are and I also been told before that a 450 can keep up quite easily with a 07 KingQuad 700.

But if you need a lower gear, I think you can get some lower gear setup for the Rincons.

I borrowed a buddys 450 and it was weak in my opinion. I started in the bottom of a bar ditch and pinned it. She slowly motored up the side. My Rinny would have stood on the back tires easily coming out of a ditch. There was no punch response from the 450

The Honda doese have more much punch right off the bat and we are talking a 680cc vs a 450cc so there will be more power in Rincon. I just saying that my 450 is decent for preformance and just about as good as the Rincon all together. Rincon is still better. But that is just my opinon. So I don't know, maybe your buddies quad wasn't running quite like it should.

Also think you Rincon might have more punch then the new 750 King too because of the style of tranmission but the 750 will mostly likeky out perform the Rincon overall.
Later on I might also be thinking of putting a clutch kit in mine so that should wake it up even more.

I am not talking about drag racing I just want to be able to pull the front end over a hole or up on a rock. I can't tell you how many times in my life being able to blip the throttle or carry the wheels saved my butt. I know/assume the Rincon's automatic tranny eats a lot more power than the belt driven machines. I need to ride a 750 it is hard to find a dealer with any demo land around here... They just expect you to buy it sight unseen or up and down their parking lot... For 7-9 grand I am going to make sure I like it, just like a car.

I can't compare those two but I just bought an 08 king 750 and have been riding an 03 eiger. This atv has tons of low end torque, if you put it in low range and floor it ,it will pull the front wheels straight up. Also as far as engine braking, I am amazed at how little I use the brakes coming down steep very rough terrains. This is defanitly an awsome machine.

So Badmudder in high can you blip it and hop the front end or does it just kind of sputter up to speed?

It still pulls hard from a dead stop in high, but I have found that the automatics in general don't have that "blip" that you are talking about like the 5 spd 1st gear feel has.
