Default Eiger carb

My Eiger has not idle right since last spring. I have clean my carb atleast 4 times currently 5. This time I had it soaked in what they clean car carbs in.

I noticed this time that the needle jet is missing. I'm not sure if it fell out during it being soaked or if it has been missing. I have never removed it. So I do not know it it just feel out this time or if it has been missing for some time. With it missing would it effect idle?
From what I have read it effects the mid to high throttle range. In the past it ran fine above idle.
I'm currently waitting on my new needle jet.

Any input on how a missing needle jet would effect the running?

Scott

Youre right about it effecting the 1/4 to 3/4 throttle . It should just idle fine without a needle installed. It should also idle just fine without a main jet too.
Did you remove the pilot jet, and make sure the center hole is clean? Replace it if youre unsure. How many turns out is the mixture screw?

I have the needle it is the needle jet that is missing. They call the needle, jet needle, and the jet for needle, needle jet.
Yes I have removed the pilot jet and cleaned it. I have had the mixture screw anywhere from 1.5 to 4.5 turns out.

I got my needle jet today. There is a very loose fit between the needle jet and jet needle. Is this normal? I looks like some fuel would come out during idle because of the loose fit between the two.

Its not supposed to fit like a cork in a bottle. The protusions on the bottom of the slide, keep gas from coming out at idle speed(throttle slide closed)
