Hey there!! for those of you that read the forum regularly, I was think of buying This ride a few weeks ago. I finally got it.

I paid $1500 CDN for this 91 LT, that bogged down when punched. It is Extremely loud, missing head light, and a couple slow leaks in the rear tires and the plastic is FUBAR.

Anyway the guy says it needed reeds, and bla bla bla for tune up and whatever.

It turns out that there was a RAG! stuck in the air filter, carb was a bit dirty, tires just needed some air because it sat so long, and I replaced the light switch.

Where the plastic was cracked or warn I broke the piece right off, and stitched it with sinew, like the Doc would a flesh wound

Anyway Frankenstein ( my LT ) runs choice now!! I don't think I could be happier. This forum helped me buy my bike and I thank you all for that!!.

I'm sure I'll break something soon, so I’ll all see ya all in here in the future.

Actually! How do you check the bottom end oil??
Just drain it and add 900 ml or so ?? There didn't appear to be any level or window!!

Sounds like a good deal you got there! The 91 and 92 LT's were by far the better models put out by Suzuki, and I still have my '92 Quadracer even though I just bought a Raptor. I still love my 2-stroke!! I had to laugh at the rag in the air intake though, cause I did the same thing once while cleaning my filter....I was trying to figure out why my baby wouldn't run...and after removing the filter it became obvious.....duh!!

Oh, I almost forgot, just add 1 quart after you've drained your tranny oil. There's no way to check it, but I have always done that and never had any problems.

Haha a rag. The things people do to their bikes. I just bought a dirtbike and there was a family of mice living in the airbox. I pulled so much nesting out of the box now the bike runs great.

LOL A rag hehe I think youll laugh at this one.
OK I cleaned my air filter and when I put it back on the washer that goes on Must have moved and fell into the part of the air box between the filter and the carb. Anyway I went riding and it didnt run rite, It would bogg ever once and a while. I tried everything I could think of, then one day I was riding and the throttle stuck wide open so I thought WTF, sooo tried to get the throttle cover off to se if there was something wrong in there I bent 3 screwdrivers and finally got it open, ok it looks normal so I took off the carb and when I did I heard something fall out of it I couldnt find anything mising from the carb so I put it back together. My cousin who was helping looked down and said whats this? Man I was Pis*ed I knew exactly what happend as soon as I saw that. I started it up and it ran fine! What happend was the washer was blocking the air at first then it wiggled its way into the carb and stuck the throttle slide wide open! I felt sooo DUMB

Congrats on your purchase wish I could have found one that cheap. Glad you got it running good. Rocky Mountain ATV has the best prices I've found for new plastic. Also to check your oil. There should be a 10mm bolt with a phillips notch in it on the right side engine cover just behind and below the water pump. Take out this bolt when you add oil. It is full when oil leaks out this hole (make sure the quad is sitting level). Good luck.

The newer modeled motors from suzuki did not come with the fill level plug. The only way to fill the 87 and newer models is to guess. The motor takes 900ml as you said, one good way to tell is to go and get a Ratio Rite. They only cost a few bucks but will help you if you are looking to be a perfectionist on mixing your 2 cycle and filling your motor.
