ozark 250 wheel ???
#1
Has anyone purchased aftermarket wheels for their ozarks? How big can i go with versus stock? Any help would be greatly appriciated. The reason I ask is my wife has a 2005 ozark and the rear rim is bent at the bead and only holds air for about a day. Thats what happens when you hit a stump sticking out of the trail. Suzuki wants $163 for a stock wheel so its aftermarket time. Thanks again

Recreation Tire is an even better place to deal with to. $110 bucks bought me new rims and $120 bought me two 22 by 10 by 10 Trailwolfs at Tractor Supply.$230 bucks is better than $163 for a rim.
www.recreationtires.com would also be a great place to check. That or find some Honda Recon rims. They are a perfect fit.

$163 for a steel wheel? That's crazy.
Yeah, you can always go bigger on the wheels. You just can't go smaller without hitting the brakes.
Rocky Mountain ATV has some cheapo steel rear wheels for the Ozark that are stronger than stock for something like $30 each but they are heavy.
Another option would be to go with the lighter weight aluminum wheels--something like Douglas red label (.190) might be a good choice. These are also at Rocky Mountain ATV. These wheels look better and save on weight but are more expensive and not as strong.
My wife has the Douglas aluminum wheels on her Ozark for use with sand tires. Look at my pics to see what they look like.
If your wife rides by feel, you might want to consider the heavy duty steel wheels.

$163 sounds nuts but my friend bent his rim on his 700 grizzley and the yamaha dealer told him $170 for a new one. And to think I just sold the stock wheels and tires from my 700 raptor for $150 for all 4 and they were new take offs

Yeah, the $163 is the price for the uninformed/ignorant.
The uninformed/ignorant people are those who when they bend a wheel, think that they must go back to Suzuki for a replacement and don't even realize that there is an after-market for this stuff, or they are just too lazy to do the research on a new wheel.
If Suzuki can sell it for $163 and people buy it, why not?
