LTZ 250 difference between model years
#1
I'm looking at picking up an LTZ250 for the wife. My local dealer has new 06, 07, and 08 models. They are a large dealer and buy overstock from smaller dealers that want to clear out old inventory. My quesion is are there any major differences between these models other than graphics. There is about $700 difference between what they are asking for the 06 and 08 models. If there is nothing major I will proably just take the 06...

I have some K6 models and a few K7's. With plenty of use, the rear axle bearings and drive shaft UV joint will go (I reckon about 200 hours use). Suzuki are aware of the problem and I have been looked after with the warrenty. Regularly jack the rear of the bike up and check for play in the rear axle. Also regularly check the UV joint on the drive shaft. The K7 model had a modified plate where the axle goes into the final drive unit. I thought this had solved the problem but it hasn't. The price should be the same for K6 to current. Don't know anything more about models prior to K6 sorry...

Suzuki made some motor changes after the first or second year ('03? '04?). Definately the newer motor was in place by the '06 model. the '06 through '08 models are basically the same, save for 'bold new graphics'.
