I don't think it would work wonders, but worth a shot I guess. It might clear 'something' up 'somewhere' in the carb anyway.
I've had pilots so plugged up that 125psi air wouldn't clear it. I had to use a guitar string to get it clean. [img][/img]</end quote></div>
Good idea on the guitar string, do you know the diameter of the string, and how small they go? Was that the nylon or steel string?

Steel. I think it was the E string (.011 inch). Sometimes the B string works too (.015 inch). They make smaller strings (.009 and maybe even .008). Not sure the absolute smallest, but your neighborhood pawn shop would probably have a decent selection. The rest of the strings I got are: G (.022), D (.032), A (.042), E (.052). I paid $9 at the pawn shop for the pack. The smaller the strings though, the more they cost.
One time I needed a wee bigger pilot... So I took one of the small wound strings and stood on one end and pull it tight with one hand. Then I took the jet and moved it up n down on the string winding to open to pilot jet up some. It worked, but even after considerable time filing away at the jet, I still couldn't step up to the next string.
I'm into all that backwoods redneck engineering.

Yes, I looked thru my box of misc wires looking for something small enough to fit in a pilot jet. Everything I found that was small enough to fit, wasn't stiff enough. Then it dawned on me about the guitar string.
Watching any mythbusters lately?

Hey, I was wondering if you can help me out. I just got my jug back from Kustom Kraft and it came with special instructions. It reads "It's crucial that cranking pressure not exceed 170 lbs. Check compression before break-in and take steps to correct compression ratios that are too high. (Add base gaskets or increase head volume)."
I don't understand why they recommend this. The last time I took a reading (before I got the big bore kit), my compression was over 200 and I was going to deck the cylinder on top of it. I never heard this before. Can you help me understand why they say this?

I searched ebay, and found some wires, but havent ordered any yet. I dont need the full set, just the small string...either .009 or .01". Im glad you shared that information.
Been watching new releases, I really liked no country for old men....have you seen that one? Also lions for lambs was good.
Ive already gotten all the mythbusters from netfix, and the local rental, so now the only time I catch mythbusters is when I go out of town, and have cable in the motel room.

I wish I knew, and if you find out, Id like to know. I bet if you call them up, they'd be glad to let you in on whats going on.

I'll try to call them tomorrow and find out. Maybe its a heat thing. The paper also says to go up 4 jet sizes on all jets and richen the needle some. That indicates to me that heat is a big concern with them.

Even the trimmings from someone that just restrung his guitar would work for you. Usually, I cut off a good 6 inches or more and toss it out.

No, I haven't seen many new releases. The last one I saw was the Will Smith one... I am Legend. It was ok, but a virus making people have super human strength and that was too much for me to believe.

I haven't caught them on tv lately either. Not sure if I just miss them or if they quit showing them so much.
