How do I tell what year my Quadrunner 300 is?

I got a Quad runner 300 from a co-worker today and he did'nt know what the year is. Can you tell by the serial number?

You should be able to find the VIN on the frame behind the left (when sitting on it) front wheel, at least that's where it is on my Kind Quad 300.

How do I tell what year my Quadrunner 300 is?
It appears to be a 1990 model by the VIN but I can't seem to find much info on the 300 chain driven 2wd.
