i found a realy good deal on a 03 z400, the guy said that when you ride it, you can put it in gear but it pops back out and 3rd gear is completely gone... i was woundering how bad is it to do a rebuild one a z, we have a 03 z400 ourselves thats all stock and i want to keep it that way. id like to repair this one. and probably put a 440 kit on it while its torn apart. can anyone give me some input??

 

Have you ever torn apart a quad/motorcycle engine? Are you familiar with a constant mesh gear box? If so, and the price is right, have at it. If not, you have to figure on at least $500 for someone to tear into the cases, and then the parts cost on top of that. It probably has a bent or broken shift fork that needs to be replaced. If the price is right, it might be worth it.
