I stripped my drain plug threads on the oil pan..

Could anyone tell me what the size of the plug that was in there was?

I'm also in between a self tapping plug, or tapping the hole out and putting a new plug back in.

Can anyone help me?

you could also replace the plate on the bottom of the crankcase that the drain plug screws into. 4 bolts. Cost about $15

That's cheap, that'll be how I'll solve this problem. I suppose I'll need some gaskets then too?
