LTZ50 problem
#1
I'm having a couple problems with my son's LTZ 50
1. When I try to use the starter button, the CDI just makes a buzzing sound
2. It won't run with the choke off
I can start it using the pull cord, but it dies if I turn the choke off. I've tried cleaning the carb and readjusting the throttle, but still can't get it to run with the choke off.
Could the CDI be bad, and that could be the cause of all my issues? I'm stumped and don't want to pay the stealership to fix it
Thanks,
Jon

I don't know how to help you but the semi official lt-z50 thread to end all threads is here.

Thanks, I've been reading through that thread, but haven't made it completely through yet. I might try changing the jets in the carb and adding a fuel filter because when I blew out the jets yesterday I could see light through the main jet, but couldn't see anything through the pilot jet, so it may just be trash in the pilot jet. I don't understand why suzuki wouldn't put a fuel filter on these from the factory.

You might try turning in the air screw to see if it's getting too much air. If that works, you can try to go up on the main jet to maybe 75 or 80 depending on the mods you've done so far... Most of us have done the CDI, airbox to KN filter and the clutch spacers just to get this thing to run good enough to have fun.
hint: the air screw is covered by a blob of silicone to the right of the idle screw. (strange as it may seem)
