Default 03 vinson

hi, my buddy has an 03 vinson with 1500km on it and it idles and runs well with all power. but i notice when he give it some throttle and is driving it it is smokng out blue. and he has to alwys check his oil and add some. what could he do to fix this?

Well, I'd say it's burning oil. It's most likely either the valve-seals or the rings. If it hasn't lost any power I would guess the valve-seals.

oil ring could be gone and it still run fine but smoke

1500km=930 miles,no way a engine should need rings at that low mileage unless it was run at very low oil level .

My guess is he sunk it and got water in the engine causing the rings to be washed. The Vinson's have a nickelsil (sp) coating in the cylinder and the rings are designed to wear before the cylinder. He needs to put new rings and piston in it asap. Its only gonna get worse.
