I've asked in some other threads but haven't received any responses, so I'm giving this question its own thread.

What top speed are owners seeing with their LT-A50's? (The 2-stroke version, 2005 and prior.)

I have removed all of the restrictions, increased the main jet, opened up the airbox, etc. It was able to do about 15 MPH with the restrictors but lacked low-end power. Now it has LOTS of low end power but still tops out at about 17 MPH. Given the huge improvement at the low end I was expecting more at the top, too.

I'm not interested in heavy-duty mods (milling the head, new pipe, etc.). I'm impressed with the low-end power now but wonder why that's not translating to more top end as well.

Is there something else on this machine that limits top speed?
