Default Mikuni TM Leak

ok, i just recently purchased a 1986 lt250r and everything was GREAT, then the morning after i got it i decided to take it to the track. well once i goth there (the gas was OFF and the valve doesnt leak), there was a pool of gas under the carb on the case. so i just grabbed my tank vent hose and called it a drain tube (good enough). once i got home, i got all new tubing, and ran it all down to the bottom of the frame. since it was still leaking i just capped off the end of the hose with a spare screw (same thing i had to do with the mikuni vm on my 230). but even after all of that it STILL leaks!! i dont think its the overflows on either side, but just in case i plugged them off at one point too and it SURE DIDNT LIKE THAT - it hardly ran!! so those are gone now. i checked and all the gaskets look good, intake boot is good, etc. so wtf???
