Okay. I am new to this. I picked up this four wheeler, and I can't get it started. It has a new plug, wire, and the cdi was replaced. I already know that the starter relay is out, but it has a pull start. It does not even sound like she is trying to turn over. What next?

Since the CDI was replaced are you sure that you are getting spark? If so what about fuel. If the quad sat for a while before you got it you may need to clean out the carburetor. Personally I would replace the starter relay and make sure the battery is charged. It is a lot easier for me to start the old quads with electric start than the pull start.

ok....
now I know I have spark from the spark plug, but the engine is not turning over. Does anyone have an idea? Could the cylinder be blown? Or should I look connecting rod? I am thinking I need to rip the engine apart. HELP!

hang on there before you go into the motor. If you have spark at the plug then it should not be hard to get the engine running. Now you need to check and see if you are getting fuel. is the spark plug moist after you turn it over a few times? I sometimes have trouble figuring this out myself so what i usually do is unscrew the top cap off the top of the carburetor, and pull out the throttle valve assembly. pour in a little gas. when i say little I mean 1/2 to 3/4 of a table spoon. put the carburetor back together. either pull on the rope a few times or hit the electric start if you've fixed it. it should at least try to fire and run for a few seconds. You may have to give it a little throttle while cranking on it. If it fires and runs for a few seconds then you have a fuel problem. the fuel pump or the valve under the fuel tank could be bad. post back up with what happens.

Yeah Ok.
I have been screwing with this for a little while. I can't get her started. She sounds like she wants to fire but will not. I took the carb out, dumped the fuel, made sure all openings were clear. If I put a teaspoon full of gas through the spark plug I can get her to backfire, but that is it. Any ideas?

Ok, try a little more gas, 2 or 3 teaspoons, but no more. but put it in the carburetor. You should have the one that has a round slide that controls throttle. just unscrew that and put it in there, and put it back together. it should start and run for a few seconds, if it stops again you have got fuel problems, which it what is sounds like you have. pull the fuel line off the carburetor and temporally re-rout your fuel line so that it exits lower than the fuel tank. you may want to put a container down to catch fuel. fuel should start to drain itself. If so good. just something to remember though, to drain the gas on my 95 i had to hook a compressed air hose and apply a LITTLE air to the inside of tank through the vent hose to persuade the gas to drain. when the gas will drain itself then you know you have gas to there. put the hose back on and try to start it. My 90 model likes a lot of choke for cold starting and even more in cold weather. If it still does not start then gas is not getting through the carburetor. either the float is not adjusted right or a jet is plugged.
