Default New dude with few problems

Whats going on guys. New to the site thougth id check it out. I have no clue about ATV's i just bought one it's a suzuki quad sport 250 Not sure of the year im pretty sure it's a 04 or somthing. Anyways bought it off of some people that didn't really give a **** about it. The area where the key and what not should be are just 3 wires tied together. Anyone know where i can get a part to put their. 2nd and most important. The electric start will not work. The batter that was in the wheeler when i got it was trash couldn't even light a light bulb. So i bought a new batter and hopfuly that will take care of it all ... If that don't work where should i look next. Push starting it is gettin old... All info would be great like i said im a noob to ATV's

Thanks Hammer

is a good place to get OEM parts, like a new ignition switch. just hit OEM parts and fill in the make n model of your ATV. also a good place to get a shop manual, that is the best investment you can make IMO.

try a new battery, if not then you can start looking at connectivity of the switch n motor with a volt meter.

welcome to the forum, and those little quadsports have been around forever. a great mechine!

im pretty sure they didnt change much over the years. you should be able to find a manufacturers plate on the bike, ther usually on one of the front vertical frame rails. try looking there!

Hey man, welcome to the place!!!
I had this happen to me as well. What I did was I took apart the handlebar control (where the start button is) and found that it was a simple solder fix. The wire had broken loose and had to be soldered back on. Once that was done, it started no problem. Got the solder iron and solder at dollar store. It sure was alot cheaper than getting it looked at. Good luck, with these quads bouncing around like they do, sometimes wires come loose or break.
