Help!!! 2006 Z400 Chain Removal
I have a 2006 Suzuki Z400. The chain is in pretty bad shape, but i think i can clean it up to for it to be in good working order. The only problem is that there is no master link in the chain. Does anyone know how to get the chain off without having to break it and putting on a master link?

No you need to get a chain breaker and "break" one of the links. I don't see how it is possible to remove the chain without breaking it and installing a master link......
But I'll tell you right now, if the chain looks worn or tired, just replace it. You DO NOT want a chain failure as many bad things can happen...... I've seen chains go through cases, and just this summer I saw a chain break on my buddy's 450R do some serious damage to the transmission as the chain snapped at about 60mph and wedged into the shift shaft, bent it and messed up some internal trans parts.
Running a tired or weak chain is only inviting trouble.

AND,,, sprockets are usually changed with the new chain. If the chain is that bad, the sprockets are too.
Make sure you get a o-ring/x-ring chain.
I use a grinder to get the chain apart. Vise grips and a 6mm washer to push it together.

Why use a grinder when a $20.00 chain breaker works so much better and easier? My Motion Pro chain breaker has paid for itself 10-times over at this point....
