hello all, i am a first time poster here. I used this forum to make my descion in my recent ATV purchase. I bought a used Eiger 400 4X4. love the bike, so far it has been all i expected. I have a strange noise coming from the quad and i was curious if anyone could help. it sounds like a tire rubbing but it is obvious that that is not the issue. best i can tell it is coming from somewhere in the midsecstion of the bike. i have owned chain driven quads but never shaft driven. Was wondering if this is normal. only does it in gear not while coasting in nuetral. any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

 

I believe they all have the same noise (as long as it is the one that everyone talks about.) There used to be a thread about it...was linked to the square gears that they use in the transmission. Mine does the same thing, especially when I am in a high gear and need to downshift.

Does that sound familiar to anyone else?
