Default Antifreeze in my oil

Just bought an 04 Z400. Saw that the antifreeze was below the Low line so I added some. Checked oil==clean. Rode for about 2 hrs saw that fluid I added was gone. Valves extremely loud. Pulled stick==antifreeze in my oil. Took it back to the dealer and they said they would take care of it. Just wanted to know of any experiences or if I will have anything to worry about down the road. Thanks in advance guys.

Not good.......it does not take long for water to destroy the engine totally. Hopefully you caught it in time and the dealer is willing to replace what is needed to make the machine last like it should...

I noticed what looked like a brand new head on the quad when I bought. Leads me to believe somebody did it themselves, saw the problem, changed the oil, and traded it in. Just my luck.

Hi There

Sincere sympathy on your problem. Very imortant for you to check is the following: In 2007 there was an official call-back for all 05 and 06 LTZ 400's. Magnesium was used in the clutch-cover which reacted with something in the anti-freeze. The result was corrosion occurred where you water-pump screws onto the clutch coverand would eat right through metal with all your coolant ending up up in your oil. There was no head gasket damage. Dealerships had to replace the clutch covers with either 04 or 07 or later covers, flush the engine, and replace oil and coolants at no charge. I think you have got exactly this problem. Loosen the 4 bolts of your waterpump and twist it in position to reveal the port of the pump. You are likely to see severe alcalising and corrosion.

good luck

I just ran my Vin#. It came up as an 04. But it is a used bike. Who knows what parts have been used on it. Its at the Stealership right now. I will relay this to them though. Thanks. Have no faith whatsoever in a dealership. But $1200 down and one ride I dont have any money to deal with this problem.
