Just weld the 2 pieces of flat you see on the floor and grind the welds down so it looks like one seemless piece.

Hey lt230sman, you should check out the big thread. I'm just wrapping up an a-arm extension project.

yeah i've been monitoring that for as long as i've been on the forum.

i just figured it would be more convinient to keep my project all neat and self-contained in one dedicated thread.

How are those 250x shocks compared to the 230 ones?

ok folks, got an update:

i've made up my mind for good. im going +3" per arm.

made some new extensions:

also, i've revised the weld joints. i'm sure butt joints would be fine, but i just like to be different lol

i'm going to have these little .180" plates between the a-arms and my pipe extensions:

they will not only allow me to make stronger "T" joints, but they will also help overcome the tubing size difference:

Size: 36.3 KB

once i weld everything up, i'll grind them down smoother and rounder.

this is about where im at now:

they now dwarf stock 86 lt250r arms WITHOUT the heims!

Name: P3050051.jpg
Views: 1796
Size: 55.8 KB

well ok, not quite "dwarf" but, theyre bigger, and the heims arent even installed yet.

now on to another subject, shocks. i got to thinking, "hey those 250s shocks look alot like my 250r stock units."

what do you think?

I guess the spring rate and internal valving could be different, but seriously, how much?

I measured them, and eye-to-eye looks about right.

since i'm going to burgard arms and elka shocks for the 250r this season, i think the stock units should be free. so i guess ill experiment with them before i go and buy others.

and lastly, thanks to everyone for thier input
