what year LT80
#1
I'm looking at buying a used LT80 from an estate sale. The man told me his son bought it new for his kids in 2000 or 2001. It seems to be in decent shape. Is there a place on the frame or anywhere that tells me what year the machine is? He want $500. Is this a good price? Thanks, Trevor

It's been a little too long since I sold our LT80 but the VIN should be embosses into one of the frame members - Suzuki usually chooses a verticle part of the frame for this. Sometimes it's on a plate that's welded to the frame, sometimes the number is just stamped into the frame tubing.
The LT80 is a 2-stroke so it's going to smoke at all speeds. It does smoke more when it's cold - after it runs about 10 to 15 minutes the smoke will get less. The LT80 has an oil injection pump, so no mixing is needed - check under the seat for the oil tank and make sure that it's full. I know that some have disconnected the pump and just pre-mix fuel to get a more consistant mix. We always used the injection tank on our with no problems.

A great deal!
I think the VIN is either on he left front frame rail or on the frame connector that the front fenders are bolted to.
Either way you may need to pull the front fenders off.

Well I found the VIN and turns out to be a 2004 model year. I looked it over real good and rode it around for 15-20 min. It seems there arent any problems and we settled on $475. Thanks for the help, Trevor
