Default LT 80 hard start

bought my kids an 87 LT80, rebuilt top end, installed new carb, checked reed valves, new spark plug, new fuel, cleaned up stator. Heres the problem this thing will just not start. Got good spark and fuel, plug does get wet and have had to clean. With a little kick of starting fluid it fires up and runs great. When you shut it off it usually will not start back up without another hit,(I think it is addicted)LOL!
Starting to run out of ideas!
Any help would be great.
Thanks

I did rebuild it probably 1 or 2 yrs ago, last compression check i did i had 130, On the other hand after reading some posts I did use Wiesco piston and rings,, probably not a good idea. Will be doing another test on it tomorrow i hope. What do you guys recommend for a new piston and rings. After much trying I choked off carb with my hand and got it to fire and did get it to run. Probably a good sign.
Thanks for all your help

does the quad have and air filter on it? and when you cleaned the carb did you clean both pilots? if its still stock there are two pilot jets stacked on top of each other. if it started by choking with your hand then chances are your cylinder and piston are fine
