Default KQ400 PROBLEM?????

I was wondering. I have popping sound in 2x4 reverse. Example If i try to back out of a deep rut wheeler wont move but rearend is still trying. Put it in 4x4it will go ahead and come on out of the rut. Other wise it will make a popping sound. Only does it in 2 wheel drive. Is it something to worry about and take to shop?

If you're still under warranty, I'd bring it in and have it checked. Sounds like something isn't engaging like it should.

It is out of warranty buy3 or 4 mounths. It is just strang it only does it at high rev and stuck and you try to back out. Wheels move but the pop has me wondering. No metal in oil rearends are full. By the way it is a manual shift. You can lock 4x4 in and come out. I mean you really have to be stuck and really trying to get out. Just backing in reverse it does nothing.

Nope always came to a stop. Plus the motor down to idle. It does not do it unless the wheeler will not move at high rev. in reverse. Just backing around or up no problems. Only at high rev. I have not went from foward or reverse alot to get out. No slamming from 1st to reverse or anything. I was backing up got in a deep dry rut excellerated to get out and it started making a pooping sound. I stopped put it 4x4 backed it on out no problems no popping or anything.
