KQ 700 efi stalling / hard starting- stuck on trail
#1
errrr- my new 05 King Quad 700 left me stranded 15 miles down trail today
I put it in N and tried to start it back up- all it would do it barely idle for a second then stall as soon as I tried to gas it. I'd crank it over again for about 5 seconds each time and all it would do is idle for a second then stall. I sat around for about 20 minutes letting it cool off and it finally started again
I drove it straight home! It runs great while zipping along. Pretty smooth and pulls real hard- no loss of power (tho- I'm used to my 300fw, so a moped would feel powerful to me at the moment!)
I noticed before that while I would coast down hills under no load, the rpm's would fall real low and almost stall (sometimes it did stall) but would start up after about 3 seconds of cranking. I put a new battery, oil, oil filter, plug & air cleaner in it.
Any ideas? Maybe a TPS sensor??? or an issue with the FI?
I knew I'd regret buying a fuel injected ATV with a ton of sensors- something was bound to go wrong! Now I miss my plain ol'reliable carb!

The tip I found at this link solved my issue-
King quad 700 will not run. - TrackShare.com - Canada's Outdoor Connection
Sure enough, when I checked my TPS position as outlined by indy500 in this thread- mine came up _coo , once I adjusted it so it was -coo, everything was fine
