Default Suzuki Eiger 400 automatic clutch problem

I have a 2004 Eiger (600 miles) that has sort of a rattle sound in idle. My good friend has an identical model (1200 miles) that does not sound the same. A mechanic said that the nut (nut shoe clutch) behind the primary drive clutch might be loose. Sometimes they come from the factory that way and some times they get loose later. Mine has had this sound from when I bought it new. I checked with the dealer who said there are no recalls on this problem. Anybody have experience with this?

My '02 had it. Realized something wasn't right a not long after I got it. It was the nut on the autoclutch that was loose. Dealer fixed it under warranty. No problems since.

Since this is my first ATV I didn't realize the problem while still in warrantee. Live and learn. Thanks for your reply.

I had the same problem on my 07 King after 2500 miles. Dealer said that it was strange on the King but was known to be a problem on the Eiger

Just like to clarify, are you guys talking about the centrifugal clutch or the manual clutch that operates when you use the shift lever?

I'm getting a kind of odd sound with my Eiger that I notice at all speeds, it matches the engine, though it is more noticeable above idle. A friend and I took the side cover off and the clutch cage and attached gear on the manual clutch seems to have a bit more play in it than we thought it should.
