Z 400 reverse

Just got a 04 Z400 limited. Kind of lost about the reverse. I know the **** does something but im not sure. Any help appreciated!

engine running ,in neutral , pull in clutch lever, toe first gear,turn **** to the right ,toe down , slowly release clutch. please do this in a area were there is room to stop your self

Put the ltz 400 in 1st gear still hold the clutch turn the *** and **** down again then let out he clutch and to get out of reverse pull in the clutch and shift up.
