Default 250r Rings

alright guys im back, and as always, im bewildered!

just pulled apart the topend on the ol' 250r (had ZERO compression, was impossible to start without tugging it around for a while, and yet somehow ran with decent power!?). and i found something quite strange. my rings are worn way out of round. the piston and cylinder walls look beautiful, and im pretty sure that there's no way the cylinder is this out of round. the bike was just bored 2mm over and has no more than 50 (hard) hours on it. also, the notches in the rings that are there to clear the pins in the cylinder (to keep the ring end gap from rotating) are worn off to one side.

is this normal? im super broke at the moment and im planning on only replacing the rings for now...

I know how it is to be super broke and your quad broke also...but to do it right would be to bore it next size up with new piston rings and pin and bearing unless you are at last bore. my 250r is low on compression also and can't fix right now plus my quadzilla has a cracked jug that I need to repair.

I'd check the piston to wall clearance. If .010 or under, I'd ring it.
Not what I'd do for a long term fix but it should get you by for a lil while.

haven't seen rings like worn like that its like they walking around a lot in the ring grooves wondering how much play you have does the piston show any signs of slapping the walls?
