ltz400 cutting out, help!!!

possibly cdi.......not sure if they go bad all at once or can cause symptoms like yours. Maybe a wire making contact to the frame somewhere. Choke stuck?
Can you get another cdi to plug in and try? Where are you located, I have one if your in socal.

i also thought about the wire thing too so i followed all the wires, there all in good shape! the choke also seems to be in good working order, the weird thing is that its only been a problem after it sat around the thing ran great before, im in wa, but i think im going to keep going with the carb and try carb dip solvent, just in case there is somthing im not seeing in the passages of the carb, i might get a cheap used cdi that i know will work and try just to illimanate that. thanks for the response
