eiger clutch replacement
Well I'm gettin ready to replace the clutch on my eiger, I guess 2500 miles of 26 inch mud lites and to much pullin has got the best of it. Just wondering about how much it will cost, how long it will take and if thiers any special tools i'll need? I've never done a clutch on a wheeler so chime in on any tips.

If you have the 5-speed semi auto tranny, you'll need to pull the primary clutch out to get the clutch plate cluster out of the carriage. An impact wrench or air tool will make it easier to loosen the nut. I don't recall the size of the socket but its bigger than 1" for sure.
Make sure you soak the fiber clutch plates in clean oil at least 24 hrs in advance.
It shouldn't take very long if you have the right size socket and tools...maybe about an hour.
Check your primary clutch shoes and main housing for wear. There are 5 or 6 clutch shoes (these are metal "arms" for a lack of a better word that press out against the housing when the engine revs). If this is worn, it's not a cheap part and you must get the entire assembly.
If you have the auto tranny, can't help you there.
I can send you some photos if you need.
