What are the bad things about a 86 lt250r

I got a lt250r quadracer what are all the bad things i should check befor rideing it alot

hey lil joker what bad things are you talking about? didn't think there was anything bad about a LT250r

just looking for things that other people have had promblems with that i should check befor taking it out of state

only thingI can think of is let it warm up before you ride those 85-86 LTs have been known to seize if not warmed up

ok ya i keep mine in a heated shed and have its own heater for outdoor rideing thx though do you know a good place to order tires cheap and swing arms

What he means is you need to let the motor idle and warm up a bit. 2 strokes tend to seize if the engine is not up to operating temps before you start hammering the throttle. The LT has a few quirks, but just give it a good once over checking for loose bolts and excessive play. My chain tensioner could be a bear if any crud got into it. Other than that mine was pretty reliable.

I have a Dirtwheels magazine that mentions the old 500 2 strokes had a tendency to crack at the frame members,since the two ATVs may share the same frame it would be something to keep a eye on.

Def. not the same frame, but that actually is a common problem amongst all the Quadracers. You should pay special attention to frame at the footpeg area. Also, my frame and pretty much every '85/6 I have seen all rust through along the bottom side of the bottom rails. I took mine to a shop and had the frame reinforced and welded in those sections.

ok thx for the info guys so manly just watch out for the frame cracking or rusting
