lt80 clutch mods with throttle limited?
#1
Have the clutch apart on my sons 80, front was about junk, rollers worn to the steel, grooves they ride in looked real bad. So after finding the new parts its ready to go back together but is it worth doing the 4 rollers if the throttle is turned down or not? He is 5 I don't want him going too fast. Before I tore it down it would barely move from a stop but once rolling it was plenty of speed even with about 1/4 throttle.Thanks.

Got it back together, tried with 4 and 6 rollers didn't see much if any difference, so I cut the weights down to 180 grams in the rear, still doesn't want to get moving with about 1/4 throttle. If I take the throttle limiter out it takes off and runs very strong even with me on it. Need to find a way to get it out of the hole but keep the speed down to maybe 15mph or less with a 55 pound rider.

Took it back apart last night, put just the 3 rollers in and a new big spring in driven clutch, old one was maybe 1/4 inch shorter than the new one its an 88 pretty sure it was original, works real good now has decent take off and starts to get into the powerband even being turned down without too much speed. Thanks.
