Hard to tell on some of those parts. Do you have access to a parts cleaner?
If you aren't into re welding the side cover, I would try the JB or something along that line first. A lot of machines out there fixed that way and running fine. I just figured since it was apart it made sense to weld it for a stronger fix. Does the crack go through to the outside surface?

I don't believe the crack does, there is a bunch of gasket sealer on that area over the outside so MAYBE. I'll take a look and post a picture.

Update
So I decided to take the cheap-o way and use some Loctite quick set epoxy. I hope epoxy dose not decompose in engine oil once the pan is filled.
This is what the outside looks like, the previous jackhole did a nice and messy job with what appears to be some JBweld so I am not going to touch it but the inside is good so that's all that matters as long as it does not break down in oil.
Also I ordered some stuff online today, new spark plug, k&n oil filter, complete carb rebuild kit, 6 friction plates, and 5 new clutch disks.

nice pickup man for 60bucks lol.cant beat that im always picking up deals like that.i just picked up my 87lt230 for $450.my rear plastics are way worse lol.they make a plastic weld at autozone for about 5bucks that is really strong you could plastic weld those cracks n use a little more on the inside so its nice and strong.then sand down the outside and get it ready for paint should look cleaner than poprivets.and i like the cowl it look good ill have pics of mine on by tuesday.

just go to an upholestery shop they can recover it fairly cheap black would be nice.ill have pics tomorrow or tuesday of mines i got mine runnin just gota get it to idle.and yeah i hear you on the lt250r theyre nice quads i only picked up my lt230 cus it was cheap.might be picking up a blaster cus i like my yamahas.then eventually going to sell em both n move up to the banshee.
