LT80 quadsport lotsa help needed.

Newbie to this(quad owning) and I just purchased a lt80 quadsport from a guy at work for $125. I'm looking for a few things.
Where can I find a wiring diagram?
When the quad attempts to start, I have to keep the wheels off the ground. Any ideas?
He also said the oil pump hasn't worked in a bunch of years, do I really need it?
Also, where can I get a friggin gas cap for it cheap?
I guess thats a good start.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

I just picked up an LT80 myself. There's lots of helpful info in the LT80 threads here and in the kids quads area.
I wasn't able to find a hardcopy manual for the LT80, I settled for a downloadable copy ($6.99). The manual will have diagrams for your reference. Be careful though, I've found at least one deviation.
Do the wheels turn at idle speed (when starting)? Sounds like a clutch problem to me. Others will chime in with more experienced thoughts.
Mix your fuel/oil if the oil pump doesn't work.
Ebay is a good source for parts (cheap). As stated in several threads, MotorSportsSuperCenter.com seems to have the lowest OEM prices.
Good luck.

So here is where I am at.
Charged battery, no go, so I jumped the battery and heard a clicking noise, sounds like the starter possibly not working properly.
For some reason, I am thinking the quad did not start in a while, even though I was told otherwise.
Found the on/off switch was disconnected and the original start button does not work and that is disconnected as well. For that matter, I don't think the stop/run switch works either. because when I found the push button to start the quad, the starter was clicking anyway.
Any help. I think I may have gotten into more than I can handle.

this is a really easy way to find the part ya need, and part numbers for oem stuff.
Dillon Brothers' Suzuki ATV Parts Finder
will prolly have a wiring diagram as well.

If you are getting a clicking noise from the starter then everything is set to run. Otherwise, it gets nothing. If you tried to jump it and still heard the clicking than the starter is likely froze.
I don't know what you mean about having the tires off the ground. Does it start when flat on the ground and then you have to lift the rear end to keep it running? How on earth did you figure that one out?
If it is idling at a normal rpm and the rear tires want to turn to the point where it will kill the engine, I suspect a belt or clutch issue. You should be able to rev it up a bit before the rear wheels turn.
Don't fret about getting in over your had. There are MANY of us who have learned a TON about these machines from these forums. It takes time and patience b/c while you simply want to ask the questions and get immediate answers the truth is that the answer probably already exists on here somewhere.
At the top of the forum is a search bar. Put LT80 in the search and then check each thread that seems of interest. You'll find some have little information for your while you'll want to bookmark others b/c they have so much!!
If you still have questions after that then fire away!!
In the meantime, don't give up!! Yes, the LT80 have some common issues but with this thread you will be able to address each of them and you will have a pretty sweet machine when you are done.
The fact that you paid $125 puts you WAY ahead of the curve b/c even if you spend 200 or 300 more fixing or modifying it you'll still have made out!!!
