Default LT250r 92 HElp

hey guys ,i need a little help or maybe alot ,I just picked up a 92 lt250 r,fmf pipe ,starts right up first kick,lots of compression,new carb,pulls wheelies all that ,but .....seems to have no mid power or top end just a dog, seems very flat..no power band at all ....I also have another 92 250 r low compression that would eat this bike ,still has stock exhaust,,,,,,,,what makes them flat in power like that??jets ?/power valve??other wise this quad is dam near like new .......any help would be great .....cause this sucks i cant even beat a 400 ex like my other LT250 r smokes them all day......

Have you checked for cracked or broken reeds. I have a Honda 250r that did the same thing you're describing and it ended up being the reeds. Put a set of v force 3's on it and it's fine now.

Take the carb. off, take the intake boot off and pull the reed valve out the cylinder and check the reeds for cracks, warpage, or holes in them. It is said to change the reeds once a year so if they haven't been messed with they are probably messed up. Just looking at it between the intake boot and cylinder there will be what looks like a spacer plate that is the reed valve. If it's been there a while it may take some effort to separate it from the cylinder.

fixed sweet......thanks sdm ...turned out the dude that rebuilt that new motor never set up power valve .....now it opens at 5500 rpm ,during checking in the shop ,i could rev the S$%^ out of it dam thing wouldnt open minor tweak all good
