thats where a chain guard is suppose to be that means either the chain has been broke and broke the guard or someone accidently broke it its a common promblem on these you see it alot my two cases have it too but i would defanitly weld that up and not with sealent. you wouldnt happen to have a extra thum throttle and cable would you?

Question

Liljoker1994- Thanks for that info, No I do not have a throttle cable or thumb throttle. Mine has a metal dirt bike twist throttle on it, makes it much more fun! Yeah I mean this guy could have the wrong jets in there, could be anything. Isint the stock setting 2 turns out? Maybe I have to play with my throttle cable linkage to raise my idle. I'm going to buy a carb rebuild kit for it they are cheap enough. I hope the coil is fine, there is a coil in the spare parts I got. You have a set of coils in GOOD condition? How can I tell if they are bad, can I tell by looking or do I need to use a multi meter?

Question

I got spare electrical parts, I got this stator:

And this complete electrical system:

This spare coil (its purple like the fenders, maybe they took it off and it's bad?) Is this a common problem?

I don't even know what these components are or if they are off an lt250r:

I also have this spare master cylinder/resivor, is this off an lt250r?

I'm not sure if this is the right pipe, or a bad gasket, or improper spring placement? But there's oil all over the frame:

that stator you got looks in good condition so even if you do have a bad one u can use that spare one and u have to clean each end of each coil because thats where it gets its power from and the only way i know how to tell there good is put them in and test the lights and spark ive never did it with a meter on these befor.

You sure? Arnt 2 of the 3 spools missing the cover tape? And one has a yellow zip tie around it for some reason. I wish I could test the stators with a multimeter BEFORE the coil so I can determine whether the coil is getting the proper voltage and such before I work further down the electrical system replacing coils, and such.

no the 2 with out the tape are your lighting coils they dont have tape on it and the one with tape is your ignition coil and that 1 with the zip tie may be bad but those are just your lighting coils i took mine out you may be able to test it with a meter just have to to some research well if its an electrical promblem those are easy to work on just be glad you dont have to tare the motor down and rebuild it lol

Ooooh! Thank you for explaining that! So it needs twice the coils to power lights than a plug, I'm going to look into this because I will eventually want to run lights, probably two round lights on the front like a warrior, only LED bulbs instead so I can have smaller light shells and use less power. Maybe I can take just the ignition coil out of this than if the lighting one is broken. These engines don't have points then right just a stator?
