How do you replace the front and back U-Joints without removing engine? The manual shows them being removed after engine tare down. I know you do not have to tare the engine down but how do you get to them without removing the engine?

the hard part is getting the clips out.

then i took a steering wheel puller ran two long bolts to the top side and made a plate to go over the top side with a hole in it for the cap to go thur

i just did all 3 of mine that way and it work great

All i did when i removed the clips was use a hammer and a beater bar. Placed it on one side and tapped it one way. As once the other outside cap comes off. The other one will also. Just make sure you don't mess the pins up, unless you are going to replace the caps. I always just get some grease and smear it around the cap to hold the pins in.

Thanks, I have the rear one out. I removed the swing arm and it was real easy to get to after lifting up the rear about 2 feet. The swing arm was easy to remove--4 bolts and 2 brake cables.

Is all 3 u-joints the same size? It looks like the 2 close to trans are per Parts break down but have not found the most forward one yet. I plan to got to NAPA and get them and have found on here the part number but will have them mic. it to make sure.

Update: I guess I did not look hard enough on Part number the first time. I found it and they are all 3 the same part number. So same size.
