Default 250 quadrunner 4x4 clutch question

Was wondering if anyone has encountered this.

After getting my 250 quadrunner 4x4 up and running, after replacing the one way clutch bearing so my electric start will work, when i put it in gear when its idling , it jumps forward and wants to go. I have the idle down low , and it still does it.

I tried loosening and tightening the clutch screw behind the tire and If i tighten it alot the machine wont move when i put it into gear when give it gas. When i loosen it out, as soon as i put it into gear it wants to jump forward and go. Think the clutch is bad? plates stuck broke springs?

Thx

I'm not forsure about what's right or wrong here but try this (if you haven't): adjust the clutch adjustment screw all the way in(just sitted not turned in hard) and back it off 3/4's of a full turn out and tighten the locking nut and try riding it again.
Let us know if this helps!?

The clutch adjustment you made is for the "manual" clutch. This clutch disengages only when the shift lever is depressed. It sounds like your problem is with your centrifugal clutch, which disengages at idle speed. Did this problem appear after your recent repairs?

The "automatic clutch" is made up of two components: 1.The manual clutch, which disengages only when the gearshift lever is actuated (up or down), and is supposed to be engaged when the machine is in gear, therefore it could not be the cause of the OP's issues. As you mention, this clutch is adjustable, and the OP states that he adjusted it with no results. 2. The centrifugal clutch, which is supposed to be disengaged at idle, has no adjustment, but could be causing the OP'S issues. But, if the clutch was working OK before the repair, I would double check the repair work.

To the OP: Using oil of the wrong viscosity can cause problems in this area...
