im having an issue with the way my atv runs. it starts up just fine, it will idle and has a slight miss at idle. when i first start it up, if i hit the throttle it will rev up just fine for the first 5 seconds or so. But then it will fall on its face. if i left off the throttle it will still idle but as soon as i touch the throttle, it wont rev up, it tries to but it acts as if its hitting a rev limiter. this problem is intermittent though, sometimes it will run fine. the spark plug is good and gapped correctly. ive adjusted the valves, put half tank fresh fuel in it. engine oil is good and filled to the correct level. im kinda leaning towards it being an electrical issue, by the way it sounds. it sounds like its hitting the revlimiter or something like that

well i figured out the problem....... the voltage regulator/rectifier burnt out. i was able to tell this by unbolting it from the frame and looking at the other side of it (the side thats against the frame) it was clearly evident that it was burnt.
