Default help with ltz 400....

i have a 2007 ltz 400 that i bought this past winter..if i had to guess it had about 10-20 hours on it..ive put about 10-20 more hours on it..so it may have a total of 40 -50 hours on it...i haven't change the oil yet ...i dont know if the dealer i got it from changed it or not...so i don't know if its had it's first oil change or not..some people have told me that its ok to go to sythetic right off and some people have told to wait until the motor is fully broken in first....so do i have enough hours on it to go to sythetic..or should i wait i have changed it with reguler oil a few times...???

CHANGE THE OIL ASAP!!! You shouldn't have let it go this long as it is. Having said that, I would be fine with running synthetic in it anytime after break in, and it is def broken in. Just make sure you are using something that will work with the wet clutch. Shell Rotella T or pretty much any of the diesel truck oils are usually safe(does not say "energy conserving" anywhere on it.) I have run these with good results in my YFZ.
